Thanksgiving weekend Butler style

The next best thing to celebrating Thanksgiving with your family is to celebrate it with good friends at your cabin and ride your bike every day! Some years it's snow, this year it was dirt. A good thing for those of us still training for cyclocross, not having to slip and slide on ice makes it a bit easier to train. And there was no cheating on the training program, because Coach K was there with us! Tim and I spent Thankgiving weekend with Kendra and Melissa and Indie Pumpkin up at the cabin and we had our good friends Erin, Treb and Aaron join us for Thursday/Friday too! Lot's of good food, good friends & good riding.

After conquering hard intervals on Thursday a.m. near Lawrence Lake. It was 28 degrees when we left the house around 11-ish. Brrrrrr. But we warmed up enough.

Timmy waiting to eat.

Treb & Erin with the wild turkey Treb shot earlier in the year. Gobble, Gobble!

We didn't suffer at the cabin.

Friday morning felt balmy compared to Thursday, but still chilly at 39 degrees!
Melissa, me & Tim ready for the descent down Cooper Spur Road.

Saturday was downright warm. With great views. 55 degrees when we left the cabin!

And Sunday was quite pleasant too. Great views of both Hood & Adams!

Looks fabulous, Sue. Consider me jealous! Also, the shot of you with the bike aloft is a classic.
there's nothing like the zippy thrill of those winter ride temps, is there?

Aahh.. I am now totally bummed that we missed out on all the fun and the great company there (though not sure about Treb's free-range turkey and the ride in 28 degree weather).
We'll have to make up for it another time, maybe in Belgium.
